My name is Priya and I am 8 years old. I live in Milton Keynes, with my mum, dad and my little brother Arihant. I am originally Indian but I was born in London, England, on 23rd October 1998. My grandparents came to England long time back and my dad was born in London too. But my mum is from India and she came here after she got married to my dad. My grand parents and uncle live in London and we moved to Milton Keynes two years ago in December 2004. My mum and dad are the best Mum and Dad ever and always will be! My mum's parents and sisters live in India. My grandparents live in Shillong in the northeast of India. The place is very green and nice more like Scotland here and it gets a lot of rain. My mum lived there all her life before she came here and she loved it there. I like living in Milton Keynes and I love it because there is no traffic, there is a lot of greenery around and it looks beautiful all year round, I have more friends, there is more space to play in, it isn’t crowded and my school is nearer. There are many places for different activities, like different lakes, theme parks, farms, zoo, etc. My school is called Caroline Haslett. I am in year 3 and I have lots of friends and we have lot of fun together. My teacher is Mrs Ottaway. My brother is in year 1 and he loves his class and has a lot of friends. I love holidays and going to lot of places. I have been to different countries. I have been to India, Switzerland, Cyprus, Wales, Scotland and Greece. My favourite countries are India and Cyprus. I like India because some of my family live there and it is a warm, beautiful place. I like Cyprus because it is warmer there than here in spring and summer and there are a lot of nice beaches to play. In India once I climbed a big hill in south of India, it took a long time. At the top was a statue of a god. I went to the top of it, the statue of the Jain god Bahubali is very big about 56ft and is the only free standing stone carved statue, it was a scary at the top. At the top we poured holy water onto the statue. I couldn’t go on my own so I went with my auntie. I also saw many other things in India like cycle rickshaws, horse carts, camel carts, auto rickshaw, palkins (on which some is carried in a chair on strong people’s shoulders) In Cyprus we went to the beach everyday and played in the swimming pool. It was so much fun at the beach, it was the best part. I went to Greece and saw a lot of places. I went to Delphi, Acropolis and many other temple ruins and also we saw three different stadium of three different ages. Over there I went to the museum where we saw many broken statues. I have been to Paris and Euro Disney. I liked the Eiffel tower and loved my day at the Disney land. In England I have been to a lot places. The places I have been to are: • Brighton beach • Bournemouth • Lake district • Cornwall • Boat • Woburn • Blackpool I go to some clubs. I go Gymnastics. I have been to gymnastics for a year and it is a lot of fun.
